Friendly Facts!

Doesn't it seem like just yesterday we were teaching our new students the rules and procedures?
How is it already time to reflect on the year?

I have a very special bunch of kids this year.  They are thoughtful, kind and courteous to each other.  It's incredible to watch! I've always had a few sweet kids in each class, but this year my classroom is unlike any year.  I will miss them SO much in just a few short weeks!

To capture the kindness in my room, we'll be making Friendly Facts Books for each student.
In the days leading up to the end of the year, we'll work on a book for one student each day.

I copied the cover onto a colorful sheet. While the rest of the class works on their Friendly Facts, the student of the day will decorate their cover!
Please note that in the attached file, I've also included a copy without this year's date.
Each classmate circles three adjectives about their friend, writes their favorite memory together and draws a picture to go along!
For older students, they can brainstorm their own adjectives, write & draw!
My hope is that the students will hold onto their Friendly Facts books and remember their memorable 1st grade year!

  1. Love this! I too have a special class this year that are 'extra' caring, loving, etc. These classes only come around once in a great while! I am cherishing each day. I look forward to using your booklet in the next few weeks.
